Child Development Center

Who We Are

Gilliam Springs Child Development Center has been the weekday early education ministry of Gilliam Springs since 1993.
Our purpose as a ministry is to provide a loving and Christ-like environment where children can grow spiritually, mentally, physically, socially, and emotionally . We believe each child is a gift from God!  Every child is individual and develops at his or her own pace.

We are open Monday through Friday during the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  for ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.

What We Do

We enhance our environment through learning experiences that are age appropriate.  Our goal is to welcome your child and provide opportunities for growth in all aspects of development. From social to spiritual growth, from cognitive to physical, we provide developmentally appropriate activities and guidance that allow individual differences to blossom.  Skills are taught through units about self, family, community, and the natural world.   Our day is structured to provide a variety of activities, including play, that encourage children’s development.

What's Different

Our classroom activities foster development in language, art, music, math, large and small muscle skills, as well as social interaction.
Bible lessons and songs are also interwoven in the units to help our children grow spiritually in the knowledge of God and God's love for us, and all children everywhere. Our three, four and five-year-olds attend chapel every week with music and a Bible lesson.
We also believe in play! Play is an important aspect of early childhood. Children learn through play. Play not only provides children with opportunities for social growth, but also cognitive growth.

Our Purpose & Goals

The CDC is an outreach ministry of Gilliam Springs Baptist Church. We are committed to instruct and guide each child spiritually, cognitively, socially and emotionally in a safe nurturing environment. Our goal is to provide the spiritual and academic foundation on which each child can become a life-long learner.
To offer quality care in a developmentally appropriate environment where children are encouraged to learn according to their individual needs and interests.
To foster each child’s sense of self, self-worth and confidence.
To provide an environment for children that will serve to enrich their understanding and appreciation of their family, community and world around them.
To facilitate a partnership with parents through effective and open communications concerning the welfare and development of their child.
